SharePoint REST
microsoftOverview
The SharePoint connector, built on the Microsoft SharePoint REST API, connects RunMyProcess workflows to the lists and document libraries your organization runs on. A process can read list items, upload files and create folders, so intranet lists, registers and document libraries stay up to date as a by-product of the process instead of through manual entry.
It is common in Microsoft 365 environments where SharePoint is the system of record for documents: the workflow creates the case folder, stores each generated or collected document in it, and reads reference data from SharePoint lists to drive decisions.
Common use cases
- Create a folder per case or project and store every document the workflow produces in it.
- Upload approved contracts, reports and forms to the right SharePoint library.
- Read reference data, such as cost centres or approvers, from a SharePoint list.
- Keep an intranet register updated automatically as cases open and close.

Frequently asked questions
What can the SharePoint connector do in a RunMyProcess workflow?
+
It reads items from a SharePoint list, uploads files and creates folders, using the SharePoint REST API. Each operation is a step of the process, with sites, lists and paths taken from the case.
Can a workflow organise documents in SharePoint as it runs?
+
Yes. A process can create a folder for each new customer, project or case and upload the documents it generates there, so the library follows the same structure as the work.
Can a workflow use data kept in SharePoint lists?
+
Get List Items reads a list's entries, so a process can work with reference data the team already maintains in SharePoint, such as a list of sites, contacts or approvers.
